The Best Chips & Dips at the Lake of the Ozarks

March 23 has been labeled as National Chip & Dip Day. It just so happens that the best Mexican restaurant at the Lake of the Ozarks not only has the crispiest, tastiest chips in town, we've also got quite a few scrumptious dips to dunk them in.  


Although intended as a meal starter from our appetizer menu, chips and any one of the marvelous dips we serve at Mexicali Blues also make a great snack any time of day. If you happen to join us for Happy Hour, it's also an excellent food to enjoy along with margaritas, beer, and other cocktails. Here is a list of the taste-tempting dips you will find on our menu.   


Queso Fundido
This particular cheese dip is a local favorite, and once visitors to the lake area get a taste of it, they are hooked too! It's smooth and extremely stringy, so much so that you may need help getting a scoop out of the edible bowl without losing your chip! 

Chili Con Queso
Warm melted cheese with the addition of chili pepper.

Queso Blanco

Our white cheese dip with peppers.

Baja Dip
This dip contains not only white cheeses, but also spinach, peppers, and delicious spices.

Trip Dip
Three amazing flavors in one! A variety of chili con queso, queso blanco, and guacamole. 

Guacamole

This ever-popular dip is made fresh daily in house from real avocados!

3 Types of Salsa

When it comes to dipping chips, you simply can't come to Mexicali Blues and not try our amazing salsa! We offer it in 3 different flavors: Original, Salsa Verde, and "XXX" Hot. We've even bottled it so that you can take a jar home and enjoy it with all of your meals. 


Pre-Dipped Chips
In other words... Nachos! We kind of see these as chips we have already dipped for you. It eliminates the need for a bowl, plus we can fit a lot more ingredients onto a plate filled with tortilla chips than we would normally put into a "dip" form. We've got two delicious versions for you to try. 

Nachos
Chips, beans, meat, cheese, sour cream, and pico de gallo

Loaded Nachos
Fajita chicken, black beans, chili con queso, all topped with lettuce, sour cream, guacamole, pico de gallo, and jalapenos


Not Just For Chips
Many of the menu items at our Lake of the Ozarks Mexican restaurant taste great with the addition of one of the amazing dips listed above poured over the top of them. Some dishes already come with a dip as an ingredient, like our Pancho Villa Burrito or the Baja Chimichanga. You are welcome to request any of our dips added to other dishes too for a small additional charge.
