Mexicali Blues Burritos - So Many Choices!

One extremely delicious delicacy you expect to find at our Lake of the Ozarks Mexican restaurant is the burrito. Well, of course, we have a burrito at Mexicali Blues in Osage Beach but we don't limit it to just one kind! As a matter of fact, burritos have their very own section on our menu and there are 7 different delectable types to choose from!

Our talented chefs have come up with some irresistible burrito combinations to add to our menu of the best Mexican food at the Lake of the Ozarks. Most of the varieties you will read about below are available in both regular and large sizes. In addition to these, you'll also find a tasty burrito option included with our combo meals and also a child-sized version on the kids' menu.

It's Time to Sign Up for the Bogeys & Beer Benefit Golf Tournament!

If you love golf and beer, then we've got the perfect Lake of the Ozarks fall golf tournament for you - Bogeys & Beer! Even if you don't love those two things, it's a day full of fun that raises money for some well-deserving local organizations, so you're still bound to have an awesome time. Plus, Mexicali Blues will be providing a box lunch for the day to everyone that plays!

The 20th Annual Bogeys & Beer Benefit Golf Tournament will take place at The Oaks at Margaritaville Lake Resort on Thursday, October 10, 2019. Registration begins at 10:00 am with a shotgun start at 11:00 am. Not only will you get the chance to take part in a little mid-week fun, but you will also be helping to raise money for some great local organizations: Lamb House, Kid's Harbor, and CADV.

Included with your registration fee, you will get an exciting day of golf and a delicious box lunch provided by your favorite Mexican restaurant at the Lake of the Ozarks

A Classic Mexican Restaurant Dish - the Chimichanga

One of the delicious dishes you expect to see on the menu at our Lake of the Ozarks Mexican restaurant is the chimichanga. It's a classic that everyone loves and we do our best here at Mexicali Blues in Osage Beach to serve a chimichanga that will make your taste buds very happy! 


Have you ever wondered who the creative genius is behind this fantastic food? Well, there are a couple of versions...

The Origin(s) of the Chimichanga
There are a couple of different stories about how the chimichanga became the beloved dish it is today. The first possibility claims that Monica Flin from Tucson, Arizona's El Charro restaurant dropped a burrito into the deep-fryer by accident back in 1922. This made her start to curse with a Spanish word that begins with "chi..." but she quickly censored herself and instead said, "chimichanga!" which is similar to the American word "thingamajig" in Spanish.
