How You Can Relax This Labor Day Weekend at the Lake of the Ozarks
Labor Day is a holiday meant to pay tribute to the many contributions that workers in America make every day, making our country stronger, more prosperous, and a great place to call home. Getting to spend your Labor Day Weekend at the Lake of the Ozarks gives you the perfect setting to relax and truly enjoy a well-deserved 3-day weekend. Today, Mexicali Blues has a few suggestions of ways to enjoy your holiday.
Have Fun on the Lake
At the center of the entire lake area is the big, beautiful Lake of the Ozarks. It can be relaxing to just sit on the shore and admire the natural beauty surrounding it, but if you're looking for some fun, you need to get yourself on, or rather in, the water.
It could be a leisurely boat ride to a quiet cove where you can spend the afternoon swimming. You could also take advantage of the many watersports possible on the lake like tubing, water skiing, paddle boarding, wakeboarding, and more. You're going work up an appetite while you're out there, so you might want to swing by Mexicali Blues to pick up a bag of chips and a jar of our famous homemade salsa to put into your cooler!
See Some Sights
You can enjoy the wonders of nature off of the water around the lake area too. There are many scenic parks to explore with plenty of hiking trails so you can really explore the area. The Lake of the Ozarks State Parks have beaches that you can hang out on. Ha Ha Tonka State Park even has some amazing castle ruins on a tall bluff overlooking the lake. Bridal Cave & Thunder Mountain Park offers a breathtaking cave tour followed by the chance to break geodes and "pan for treasures" in their outdoor sluice at the visitors center.
Watch the Fireworks
Especially for holiday weekends, many different spots all around the lake area shoot off gorgeous fireworks displays. There are lots of places to park, both on the land and on the water, where you can see multiple displays happening at the same time. They will be taking place on both Saturday and Sunday during Labor Day Weekend, and you can find a list of places and times by visiting Funlake.com.
Celebrate at Mexicali Blues
In honor of this holiday which celebrates all hard-working American people everywhere, our staff will be putting in an extra day of work especially for you! (We get Labor Day Monday off though, so don't worry, we get our chance to celebrate too!) Our Lake of the Ozarks Mexican restaurant is regularly open every Tuesday-Saturday at 11:30 am, but this Labor Day Weekend we will also be open on Sunday!
This gives you more time to fit in lots of lake area fun over the holiday weekend and still have plenty of time to enjoy the best Mexican food and margaritas at the Lake of the Ozarks! Come in for lunch, dinner, or a few cocktails in between. (Better yet, come in for all of those things!)
All of us here at Mexicali Blues in Osage Beach want to wish each of you a very happy Labor Day Weekend. Stay safe out there, have tons of fun, and take it easy. You deserve this break. Visit us and let us help you enjoy it!
