Memorial Day Weekend Fun at the Lake of the Ozarks

Memorial Day Weekend brings a LOT of people to the lake area. That's no surprise because there are tons of fun things to do around here and a 3-day weekend lets you pack in a lot of excitement! Mexicali Blues decided to help you out by listing a few of the awesome things you might want to check out over the holiday weekend.

Celebrate With Us
We're so excited about the upcoming holiday weekend at our Lake of the Ozarks Mexican Restaurant, we're going to be open an extra day!!! We usually open at 11:30 am every Tuesday-Saturday, but this weekend we'll be open on Sunday too! That gives you more time to fit in lots of lake area fun AND still have the time to enjoy plenty of your favorite Mexican dishes and margaritas. Whether you're in the mood for lunch, dinner, cocktails, or all of the above, we'll be here ready for you.

Watch the Fireworks
Memorial Day Weekend fireworks displays will be happening once the sun sets on both Saturday and Sunday evenings. There's something special about watching the sky light up in celebration, and it's even better when those fireworks are reflected off of our gorgeous lake. You can find a list of many of the lake area displays at,.

Have Fun on the Lake
If you get the chance while you're in town, you really should get out on that gorgeous lake to enjoy the beautiful scenery as well as all of the fun watersports it allows you to take part in. There's boating, jet skiing, tubing, water skiing, paddle boarding, and swimming, for starters. Be sure to throw a bag of chips and a jar of Mexicali Blues' famous salsa in your cooler for a snack. All of that action on the lake is going to work up an appetite, so you might as well have something tasty on hand to take care of that hunger!

Get Outside and Explore
You can find as much fun off of the water as you can on it around here! We have lots of scenic parks to explore. The Lake of the Ozarks State Parks have lots of trails to hike and beaches to hang out on. Ha Ha Tonka State Park has even more natural areas for you to delve into, plus some incredible castle ruins on a bluff overlooking the lake that is quite a sight to see. Both of those scenic parks have lots of places for you to picnic, so you might want to swing by our Lake of the Ozarks Mexican restaurant on your way there and fill up your picnic basket.
