Fiesta Fridays are BACK at the Lake of the Ozarks!

We hope you didn't fill up too much on turkey yesterday because tonight (and for the next 3 Fridays) Fiesta Fridays are back at Mexicali Blues in Osage Beach! It's once again that time of year when Mexicali Blues Mexican Restaurant & Cantina begins preparations to close for the season. It's probably no surprise to you that the most popular drink at Mexicali Blues Mexican Restaurant & Cantina happens to be the best margaritas at the Lake of the Ozarks . We say margaritas, plural, because in addition to our famous house margarita, we've got an extremely long list of irresistible specialty margaritas as well. That's one of the reasons that tequila also happens to be a very popular liquor around here. That, plus the wide array of impressive types of tequila that we keep behind the bar. Today, we're taking a look at some very interesting facts about the one and only tequila. Here's what we discovered.  #1)  Tequila is mezcal, but mezcal is not tequila . Say what? That may sound confusing, but it really isn't. Mezcal is a liquor that is made from the maguey plant, which is a form of agave. While mezcal can be made using a variety of agave plants, tequila can only be made with blue agave.  #2)  Tequila must be made of at least 51% blue agave.  ...
